Slab Build Textured Dish or Bowl

This 2-hour introductory handbuilding workshop will explore a range of techniques.

During this group session, we will be teaching begginer hand building techniques in the process of creating either or both a dish and a bowl. We will cover both slab building and using a variety of natural objects and rollers to create different textures on the surface of the clay.

We'll also introduce the basics of decorating with underglazes and/ or glazes, and demonstrate how to carve patterns and shapes to complete your piece, all within a single session.

Your piece will then be dried, fired, and glazed with a transparent glaze (and outside if desired), ready for you to pick up.

• This workshop will have a maximum group number of 5 persons

• This workshop will include refreshments which will be provided - please make sure to add any dietary requirements/ allergies in the form when booking.

• Aprons can be provided but you are welcome to bring your own

• It is recommended to keep nails short and hair tied back

• All pieces will take between 2-4 weeks to dry and be fired

• Unfortunately sometimes pieces do not survive the firing cycle. Such is the life of a potter. LEXE Ceramics cannot accept any responsibility for cracks that appear in the pieces made during the workshops or if any of the pieces don't survive the process

• You will be contacted when your pieces are ready to be picked up.

• All pieces will be kept for up to 2 months following pick up requests.
